Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways to get involved! Learn more about becoming a Troop Leader, Service Unit Volunteer, or Summer Camp Volunteer. This page will also link you to Training Opportunities and Adult Recognitions.
Volunteer to be a Troop Leader
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Girl Scout troop leader. A troop needs at least two non-related adults to be the leaders and a minimum of five girls. Leaders complete a Volunteer Application, submit a Background Check, and view on-line training.
The first step is to attend a Getting Started Orientation (GSO) which takes place in the Patterson/Cathedral Oaks area and lasts about 2 hours. At GSO, you will be instructed in Girl Scout policies and procedures, forms, and safety issues as well as the basics of being a troop leader.

Volunteer to be a Service Unit Volunteer
If you are interested in supporting the Service Unit by volunteering to serve in one of our Service Unit Team Positions, contact us and let us know how you would like to help.
Volunteer for our Summer Day Camp
The Costa de Oro Day Camp is a week-long local camp completely run by volunteers. We need adult volunteers to help in a variety of camp duties: Camp Director, Program Director, Volunteer Coordinator, Activity Leaders, Health-First Aid Supervisor, Snack Coordinator, Camp Registrar, and Business Manager. Visit the Day Camp Page to volunteer or to find out more about Day Camp.
