Getting Started Orientation
Getting Started Orientation is live training offered as needed. Contact our Orientation provider to schedule this initial training needed for new troop leaders, co-leaders and Juliette advisors.
Current Training
Prior to Getting Started Orientation, leaders review Girl Scouting 101 and Volunteer Essentials. Girl Scouting 101 is available at www.training.girlscouts.org (Case-sensitive password: aboutGS101). Volunteer Essentials is available at the Council web site www.girlscoutsccc.org. Volunteer Essentials is meant to be an interactive reference tool so you can simply review the materials and take the survey. Notify our Orientation providerwhen you feel comfortable with the material in Volunteer Essentials and you will receive your leader bar.
Upcoming Outdoor Training
Beginning Troop Camping A: Thursday, October 22 (6-9 PM) and Beginning Troop Camping B: Sunday, October 25 (9AM-4PM). Any adult volunteer (male or female) may serve as your Outdoor Trained Adult (it does not have to be a Troop Leader) but they must become a member of Girl Scouts, complete a Volunteer Application and submit a background check.
Register by contacting our Area training coordinator. Stepping Out must be completed before taking Beginning Troop Camping A & B. Stepping Out is available as Home Study on the Council web site www.girlscoutsccc.org. Click on the page Stepping Out Home Study Manual and Stepping Out Home Study Text.
