Council Emergency Procedures and Insurance
If an emergency does occur, follow the Emergency Procedures found at the Council web site and submit an incident report to Council within 5 days. You will need the Incident and Injury Report.
A printed hardcopy of the Emergency Procedures should be with your troop at all times so keep a copy with your troop materials that you bring to your meetings and along on any activities.
Field Trip Safety
A copy of the Emergency Procedures should also be provided to each field trip driver in their driver packet. A driver packet should include the Emergency Procedures form and a copy of each of the required girl forms—Annual Permission, Health History, and Permission to Release. You can also include a copy of the optional Adult Health Form if completed by your parent volunteers. Each driver can be handed a sealed envelope at the beginning of the trip and then return it to the leader or field trip organizer unopened if no emergency occurs. Each field trip driver should have a first-aid kit in their car and possess proof of current auto insurance. Field trip drivers should be registered and background checked. Two non-related adults should be present in each car carrying girls and if one of the adults is a male the other adult must be a female not related to him by blood or by marriage.
